Friday, Oct 24Th, What's On Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

Featured Replies

This has been a busy and quick week for me. I have been in the shop late every night trying to finish up a couple of jobs.

Tomorrow I will be delivering a Custom Green Egg Table to a customer. I'll get you all some pictures when it is delivered and installed.

I am also working on another table, a TV shelf, A store sign, a couple of Shadow Boxes and a wall shelving unit. Wow.

So the saw dust in flying in my shop and the DC has to be emptied regular.

What about the rest of you Patriot Woodworkers, what is on your woodworking agenda this weekend?

We love to see your projects and hear about what you are working on. So post some pictures, give us a description of what you got on the bench or what your woodworking plans are this weekend.

Bath vanity, but not the cabinet type. Woodsmith had published a plan for on of the more current open frame types and I made the mistake of leaving it lay where LOML could see it  . With no lack of conviction in here voice, she declared that was the one we wanted in one of the baths. Now I have to find a medicine chest/mirror to match it.

Building a couple of display trable risers for a November show.  For entertainment, I'm going to help the neighbor clean his sewer.  No really, I am.

I haven't done much of anything in my shop since the beginning of summer with all the heat and lack of any motivation after our Indiana trip in July. This past week I have been working on getting the back piece of a children's rocking chair stripped and re-painted. I had made the chair last October for my soon to be born Grand Nephew who was born in mid November 2013. But while painting the pieces something went sideways with the back piece and the paint ended up drying and getting all crackled so it looked like alligator skin. I don't know if it was due to being in the winter with colder temps in the shop or a bad batch of spray paint, but I decided to set it aside for later and then get it done for my Grand Nephew's 1st birthday which is in a couple of weeks. So this time the paint  worked out perfect and now I got the chair in the back seat of my truck and will be dropping it off to my sister's house today as she will be heading out to Arizona in a couple of weeks and will take the chair with her.

I also made up a very basic TV stand for a friend of mine that I see regularly are Chick-Fil-A most mornings. He has a rental property and the TV sits too low in the Entertainment Unit. So he needed a stand that would lift it up about 6" to make it better for viewing. He gave me the measurements (21"L x 6.5"W x 6" H) and I got it made up yesterday using scrap Poplar as he is going to paint it black to match the entertainment unit. Once I got it done I put it on the floor and stood on it so I guess it should hold up to his TV. :P

I have no idea what is going to be next as I have nothing in my mind to get done and there is nothing on the list for Christmas gifts this year. So we will see.

I'm working on a dozen honey dippers this weekend, that will just about take all the weekend to get done.

I'll toss in a few pictures somewhere when they are done, or perhaps a few as I go.

If by some odd chance I do have some time, I'll start working on a project of 20 toothpick/sewing needle cases that another client wanted.

At some point this week I have to turn and put together a piece for a mini bullet pen, which will be done in antler.

Have a great weekend all!
