Friday, Oct. 3Rd, What's On Your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?

What a great weekend with lower temps and a great time to be in the shop.

Oh yea, I know it is Saturday morning and I am posting this. Had some issues on my end and just didn't get it posted yesterday.

Last night I had First Friday here in Florence.

It was a beautiful night and the temperature was just perfect. Sold cutting boards and picked up several custom jobs.

I am doing a sign for a new business here in Florence. The store will be called MAPLE. So what better sign than one made of maple.

I got the maple ready and will get the letters cut out. There will be LED light behind it to shine through.

Also making them some display boxes. One of Maple and three of Walnut. The walnut was not finished when I took the picture but it did get finished and delivered last night.

I am also finishing up a Lectern for a customer. He just got his first teaching job and want his own custom Lectern to teach from. Got a little trim and the finish to spray on and it will be ready to go.

So what about you other Patriot Woodworkers, what is in your agenda this weekend? We here at TPW love to see your projects so post some pictures and show us what you are working on.

Come on hit reply and let us see your projects.

Geez John,

It's a whole 42° here now, it got down to 36° here last night.

It snowed a couple hours north of us last night!

I'm repurposing some wood from a headboard for my "Steampunk" keyboard build.

Lot's of hand sanding, but I find it enjoyable. :D

Two days of rust hunting= 1 $10 bucket of tools+ a few odds and ends.

Main "plan" is to build from pine boards from Menards, a Screen door for the back door.   With a pair of raised panels in the bottom half.  All are in the basement getting used to their new home.   Won't be using any glue for this.....

Wedges and draw-bored pins should work nicely.   Two wedges per tenon, two pins into each joint.  1x4s and 1x8s  for the lumber supply.    May have to use some glue for the raised panels though.  Glued up panels will be about it.

Handplaned raised panels, mind you.  Mortises chopped by hand, all the way through.   Now had the tenon saw to saw tenons with, too.

Might take longer than a weekend, though.   Have to work three night weekend this time around.

BTW:  we had SLEET Showers most of the day, today.....YUCK!

So how did all of you do this weekend on your woodworking or other projects for that matter?

I spent no time in the shop this weekend so it is going to be a busy week coming up.

When Uncle Charlie (Horse) will leave me alone:

Honey-do job:   New latch on the basement door installed.   No lock though.

Screen door project is moving along at the speed of smell.   One stile is completed.   Will try again later today to make SOME progress..
