I'm new here so hi guys.I have several "old" machines,my favorite is a crescent universal woodworker. It has a 14" table saw,26" bandsaw,8" jointer, horizontal borer and a shaper.I use a crescent #2 table saw alot and a mattison 274 cutoff saw.

I have a 1954 Craftsman Accura Arm 100 Radial Arm saw that was bought specifically to build some kitchen cabinets to replace the two steel cabinets that were installed when we had the house built in 1953, right after we got married.

I still have it and it still runs very well.  Here are some images of the cabinets I built in 1954.  These were take back in 2005 when we revisited the old home town of Erie, PA.  We now live in East Central Iowa since 1969.

They are made from Birch plywood and I purposely used the "B" side because of the contrastin grain.  I was 23 years old then.  Gawd..

Will never part with the old RAS..

Larry, you did a fine job. I love the grain. You must have made them well, as they are still there when you went back. Now if only we could get as nice of plywood today....bob

HI Doug,

Thanks for the pics as they all look good, but my favorite for the kooooool factor is the 1937 Heston & Anderson Decoflake 14" Bandsaw.........it looks like it was taken off a Buck Rogers space ship or some such thing.......plus they are very rare............

Thanks ~ Dan

The WT band saw runs so smooth and quite it unbelievable.

Richard,

I have about 7 or so bandsaws (mostly WWII or before / 10" and 14"Deltas) currently and have used probably 50 plus types and brands over the years and yes the 36" Yates American and the 36" Olivers and the Tanys and the Northfields are all great, but if I didn't collect Deltas and only had one pick for a bandsaw for a home sized shop my pick would be a 16" Walker Turner metal/woodcutting bandsaw. I had one for 14 years in my last Industrial Tech teaching job that set there and sawed for several hours a week and never had to do much at all to it......man they are a good if not the best mid sized bandsaw ever made in my book and quite a bit better than the vintage 14" Deltas, but I really like the looks of the aforementioned Deltas on the optional art deco cast iron bases. Here are 2 of my 4 cast iron based Delta 14"ers ........one is a metal/woodworking just set for metal and the other is a wood only for this shed and 2 more Delta 14"ers on cast iron bases set up like these for my other shed which I use primarily for woodworking.
