July 9, 201016 yr Popular Post I have been meaning to build a table around my band saw for some time. Tonight was the night. It was hot, but I decided to go into the shop and knock it out. I need to cut up some logs to get the blanks so I can finish the apples that have to be turned. I also got an order last night from the First Friday show for a Chess Board so I need to do some re-sawing. Cut out the table slot and routed the miter slot. Added plywood legs and just clamped it under the table. I made it so I can take it down and store in the corner and not lose a lot of shop floor space. Here with my re-saw jig. Now I have support in the front to start the cut and support in the back so I don't drop it as it goes off the table. Just glad to have this one off my ToDo list. John
July 9, 201016 yr Author Josh, my space is real tight. I built it so the legs come off and the whole thing is then flat and can stand in the corner. I didn't attach it to the table just clamped it so it would be steady. It is just a piece of melamine that is 2' x 4' so it give me a couple of feet in front of the blade and the same in the back of the blade. Thanks John
July 9, 201016 yr Great setup! I've been thinking of doing something similar with mine except I had only been thinking of adding outfeed support...
July 9, 201016 yr Author At first that was all I was going to do, but when I take some small logs and cut them for turning blanks it is hard to hold them and get the started so I decided to split the difference and give me some support on both sides of the blade. Thanks for the compliment. John
July 26, 201015 yr Very nice John. When you're not re-sawing does it do double duty as a dining room table? Rick
July 27, 201015 yr Author I guess it could Rick. Actually it is like most horizontal surfaces, it collects loose objects. Then you get to spend more cleanup time putting them away when you need to use it. lol. John

My bandsaw is the most under-used of my power tools. I just can't seem to get it set up right. Probably should have spent a little more and got a better one. John
February 12, 20179 yr Nice setup. I have the same resaw jig. How did you clamp it on , I do not see that in the pic
February 13, 20179 yr Nicely executed John...assuming you still have it? Like Gerald, I'm really interested in the re-saw jig too... Assume with the new shop addition you can leave set-up now?

I attached at strip of wood on the bottom to be flush with the bottom of the table. Then I could take a clamp and pull it tight. I hope that makes sense.

November 4, 20196 yr I like bandsaw's so much that i have 10 of them counting my hand held's and my mill. And I got parts enough to build two more.
