Happy New Year To All!!

Featured Replies

The American Woodworker and it's supporters and forum helpers would like to wish all our members a Happy New Year!

May 2011 bring you new found friends, health, joy, and a rejuvenated spirit to finish that special woodworking project that's been sitting in the corner collecting dust!

I would like to personally say a word of thanks for all the support we have received since our inception just a short time ago. We started the American Woodworker in April of this year. We have gone through a few changes, our format has changed a couple times, but one thing that has not changed, and will never change, is our unwavering support for our soldiers far and wide. Though the main support of our community is focused on our American Service Men and Women, we have not forgotten the sacrifices that our partners across the globe have made by our side. From Canada to Japan, to all soldiers who fight the good fight and protect the innocent, we stand by you.

While we are a woodworking forum and community first, we would not exist if not for the purpose of supporting The Wounded Warrior Project, simple as that. We are a completely 100 percent non-profit outfit here. Myself, and our friends who make this site possible, donate 100 percent of their time to keep us up and running. Any and all funds that are received through donations and online purchases from our partners, all funds go to pay our hosting fees, and all funds left over are then given to The Wounded Warrior Project.

We have initiated two fund raiser drives in the last two months (Veterans Day and Christmas) and as a community we gathered $455.00 to give to The Wounded Warrior Project. Not bad considering how young we are! I am humbled daily by the generosity of our members world wide.

So, raise a glass of Champagne to yourselves, and pat yourselves on the back, and know that you made a difference in a damaged soldiers life.

Stay tuned for some more adventures in fund raising for 2011. We are starting to work closely with The Wounded Warrior Project on some great ideas involving your own woodwork!

I would like to close this out by saying, when I started this site, I had two goals in mind, first to provide a great place for woodworkers to be able to hang out and discuss everything wood and to feel at home in a warm and inviting environment, and secondly, to help our Wounded Warriors returning home from war. I feel we are on our way to accomplishing the first goal, and the second goal will always be a work in progress.

I can only say that I am truly humbled that all of you have decided to call our little corner of the woodworking world your home for the time that your on with us. And I truly, truly am humbled, I did not expect the attention that we have gotten. Thank you all so much for supporting The American Woodworker and our efforts. As we become wider in membership, I hope to be able to pay you back with special member enticements in the future. But for now, I hope meeting new friends is payment enough.

Thank you again for your patronage, your membership, and your valued participation, each and everyone of you, thank you.

Happy New Year to All!!

Good morning friends. I know that 2010 has been a very trying year for many families. Our economy has had many hurdles in this year. However, speaking for my family, we had a wonderful year in 2010. We had our share of obsticles, but we have been highly favored and blessed in this last year. I have a wonderful family with much love. All of our needs have been met. I have wonderful new friends around me and at this site. I am so very thankful that I found this site. I say thank you, even though that isn't enough, for being the great friends that all of you have been to me. It is my prayer and wish that all of you have a great and blessed new year.   Capt. Larry

Wow, what a year it has been. Thanks John for your vision and dream to make The American Woodworker possible. What a pleasure it has been to be a small part of this great forum. To honor our troops is an absolute joy. I only wish I could do more, but with God's help we will do our best to increase our support this year.

To all of you that have joined us, Thank You! It is you that helps us by your input to the discussions, questions and opportunities to share what you have made. In the coming year, please continue to share your woodworking with us. It is such a joy to see the things you all are producing. I get excited each time I see a new piece displayed with such joy and pride that was put into the work.

Here's to all you wishing you and your family a prosperous and Happy New Year!!
