Just Thought I'd Ask Everyone

Featured Replies

How ya all doing! Are folks happy and content with what we have going on around here at The American Woodworker? We are a grass roots site, we don't have all the fancy bells and whistles that the big boys have, but what we do have is a lot of heart and soul. As we grow our membership, our bells and whistles will grow.

Creating this network of woodworkers is one of the most exciting things I have ever been a part of. We have so many ideas, so many great features we want to implement. And so little time.

But back to my original question, "Are our members happy here?"

Thank you for your feedback.

John Morris

Well yes, I'm happy here except for the fact our members must be to well educated in woodworking. What I mean by that is traffic is kind a slow and not may question are being ask. I'd also like to see more members post more photos.

Disclaimer: This is not to say I can answer all your questions.Grin.gif

I second Richard. We need you to post projects and in progress projects. If not for question, just to show off what you are doing and help others along the way. Even if you have posted it to another site, we have members that might not be on that site.

Come on, let's get some chatter going.

I also claim the disclaimerSmile.gif

I'm just as happy as a clam at high tide with the site.  You're doing a great job with the site!!!!

I had written here before posting my latest project but lost it.

I like this forum the way it is, and it will grow. It would be nice to be a little more active, but that is coming.

Yup, we need more questions and more how I did this or that.

I seen where more photos was encouraged............so I posted one that I just finished and delivered today.

For the rest of ya.............git them photos posted. We want to see.

Well, I could use a new shop and a rich wife or rich girlfreind that likes Woodworking but other than that, I'm hanging in there.

We are still growing so it will pick up slowly, and with the economy, there's not much "Free" time somedays to post or join.

It will take awhile.  In the meantime, tell them I clean up real good and don't drink or do drugs!!

Good Morning John,

Since I have become a member of these forums I am pleased as punch that I did and it appears that others do too for we now have 158 members and some even from across both oceans and this is good for it lets us know that these forums are nice enough to attract those from other countries to join in on the fun and share there knowledge of woodworking.

Now if we can get them to post some pictures of their work or even the land where they live it would be like taking a vacation over the inter net. We should strive to welcome these folks as they join as some of us have been doing for I am sure they appreciate being recognized for joining.

Hello Lew,

Welcome to the American woodworker and we are pleased you found us. Please do come back often for there are a lot of nice folks here in every forum you go to. At the top of the page you will see the word forums. Click on it and it will take you to the various forums on this site. Also across the top are other things to click on that will transport to even more nice things to see and read, check out the videos as well as the blogs and you could spend a whole day just on those two locations.

Hi Lewis, if I may prod you further Lewis, can you elaborate on the link your looking for? I might be missing something in your post. Our most recent discussions and posts are at the center of our home page under FORUM. And the most recent activity for pictures being posted and videos uploaded etc, is at the left of our home page below the photo slide show under the heading "LATEST ACTIVITY". Now if your looking for the main area of the site FORUM, you can click on the tab at the top of our website, the tab named "FORUM". Or for the sake of showing you directly, go here to this link FORUM.

I know you have seen this, thus the reason why I am doubting that I am understanding your good suggestion to have a link of the latest activity. So, can you please elaborate? Thanks Lew.

Well, I'm new to the site, and just learning my way around. Don't know if I qualify to give advice or suggestions.

One thing I've been looking for is a link to see all of the recent posts/threads/projects/questions by the members. It's probably here, I just haven't found it.

This is an awesome site!!

Alright Lew!!!!! Glad I could help, I love happy endings. But keep in mind, if you or anyone sees something on our site that could use improvement, please let us know. We are here for our members. After all, if your not happy, we're not happy.

Thanks Lew for your great feedback.

Actually, you answered my question/comment. I had my browser set to go directly to "My Page". When I selected the Home Page, I found the Latest Activity link- that's what I was trying to describe.

Thanks for the help,

Lew

I really think this as a good respite from some of the harsh-toned forums out there.  This is a much friendlier place to learn and browse.  True, it would be nice for people (talking to myself here too) to post more photos and things but I and many others keep this as a regular site we hang out in.  I peruse the forums and learn.  When I have time and something to say I like to comment and join the discussion.

Some forums have members that think that people should know everything before asking a question or making a comment.  Here everyone has been nice and helpful.  The vast experience of people here has helped me with specific knowledge plus I get a sense of perspective.

Hello Bobby,

I couldn't agree with you more for I find that I am spending more time on this forum than the otherts. Naturally I will always be a member of WOOD ON LINE because I write the quizzes and mind benders for at least the last 10 years and will remain so for as long as they will have me.

However the folks on this forum are like family to me and are willing to help someone in need and let's not forget that these forums were made to support the Wounded Warrior Project and many have already made several donations.

I personally thank you for your comments about this forum and I am proud to call you friend.
