See Our Youth at Navy Bootcamp!

Featured Replies

One of our sister networks Navy Dad's, sent me an invite to watch their series on Navy Training, and what our kids go through as they embark on a tour of service, from the bus ride to boot camp through school.

I watched the first video on the series "P" Days. And I was bolted to the video, watching with fond memories of my Army Basic Ft Dix. I feel the Army was a bit more, shall we say challenging, then what I am seeing at this Naval Boot camp, but that doesn't take away from the fact that these youngsters are starting a great career in serving our country.

My favorite part of the video, that actually sent chills up my spine, was when the kids were talking about the reasons they joined up. The reasons were as varied as the kids themselves. The one that hit home with me, was the kid that said, I just wanted to get away. What a great video, I am sure if you watch it, you'll relate to some of those kids, specially if you were a sailor yourself.

To check out the video series, go to "Return To Bootcamp!!"

And if your interested, join their network, like Sawdust Soup, Navy Dad's is on the same network we are, so navigating the site is a snap.

Check it out, you'll love it!

Cool to watch ! Yes , less blood than my basic - and probably not a bad thing.  GO KIDS

I remember well the feeling of the "Unknown". Apprehension and fear come to mind when I reflect back on it. When we came off the bus it was a*# h#!*s and elbows, I didn't know which way I was supposed to run, anywhere but near that guy that was yelling at everyone!
