A Mile Stone Today

The American Woodworker broke the 100 dollar mark with our sales commissions. Since we have been up and live last April of 2010, we have made a whopping $103.07 this last year!

Total money made from ads on TAW = $103.07

Total money received through donations to TAW = $45:00

Total cost to run this wonderfully fun network $652.28

Total fun had = Priceless, and loving every minute of it!

Today was an important day, because we will now get our first check cut to us in the amount of $100.00 from our advertisers group. The amount must reach 100 before we can collect. So we will use the $100.00 to pay some of our hosting fees to keep this site live, and the $45.00 donated to us will go to defray the shipping costs for the Challenge Coin Displays to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Thank you members for your contributions to our network, this is a great place to be, and without you all, we could not exist.

Thank you for being here!

John Morris

I can respond to this with some authority.  No, not an Ape beating self on chest..

Before I left TAW some time ago, I was one of the first members of John's great, but rather scary adventure.  I remember some rather warm issues that we talked about. There were times when tempers flared a little.. Made me wonder if TAW would ever fly..

Fly it did!  When I came back, I was simply amazed at the progress TAW has made and what a wonderful group of members that are now part of John's great site.  As TAW grows, the financial burden of John's adventure will surely get better.

We thought of that Robert, and we might talk with Jen later about that, where they are coming from, is they would like to receive one box from us so they can take that one box to the hospital for distribution. There might be a logistics issue on WWP part where they are not set up to receive multiple mailings of the displays. But your point is well taken Robert, I am going to reintroduce your idea to Jen at a later time to get her feelings on this once again. But for now, ship em on in guys!

And Robert, you being here is all we require of anyone, we want everyone to feel welcome, no strings attached. This post I put up here is not a solicitation for funds, it is only a disclosure of how we are doing.

When we created this site, we created it with the philosophy that we would be heavily influenced by the needs and requests of our woodworking community here on TAW. This is why you guys get so many requests from us for your opinions, needs, and desires as to how our network is operated. We want full community participation as far as the direction of our site goes. Everyone's input here is greatly appreciated, I really mean it when I say, without you, we would not exist.

And it is for this reason I went ahead and put up a little snap shot of our financial's. Just look at yourself as a stock holder Robert in TAW. Your participation is your investment in our network. Nothing more is required. You are doing us a favor by being here, I want all to know that!

I chose to put up the financial snapshot to show our stock holders, you Robert, how we are growing, and what we are doing with the money. We are a team here, working towards a goal, to provide a safe and secure (free of spammers and forceful sales) environment for our members to enjoy some spirited discussion about woodworking and tools and whatever you feel you need to speak about, while at the same time, hopefully we can help our heroes returning home from war adjust to life after service.

No Robert, it is I, us, who thank you for being here, and that goes for all members on TAW, we are honored each and everyone here has chosen us to be a part of their lives, how ever small it may be, thank you.

Would it be an idea to send these straight to Jen, thereby cutting out the "middle-man,' the USPS, and just send the pictures and documentation to TAW?  The post office already gets too much of our money, since a lot of us are into contacting our CONgress-critters, and state pols, etc.  It would save you much-needed $$$.

I wish I was rich, I'd help you pay for this site, but I'm retired on SSDI and have an Intuit site I'm trying to develop, myself.  I can sympathize with you, it IS a PITA!

"Being here" is about all some of us can do.  Thank you for understanding that and thank you for a wonderful respite from WOOD.  I don't EVER need to go back there.  GREED is the byword, there.

Keep doin' what yer doin', my friend... it's working well.

Hi John,

Congratulation and you deserve it for all that you have done to keep these forums running I know that I haven't contributed as much as I would like to, I plan to dedicate a certain amount each month right off the top of my direct deposits to The american Woodworker. Hopefully I'll get a few coin rack headed your way soon.

Robert

Thanks for the info on shipping. I am currently working on displays myself. I will have 4 if I can straighten the butcher job up or 3 if I can't. I don't really care what the shipping is as long as they mke it to John the to the WWP with Jen. I will be posting some pics very soon on the ones I am making.. I am hoping to have the time to finish them and get them off to John in the next week.

Best Wishes

Wayne
