May 29, 201115 yr From The Patriot Woodworker Woodworking Community, Memorial Day is upon us. It is the most sullen day of any of our National Holidays. A day we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our country and fighting for the very freedoms we enjoy everyday. Daily we Americans ride on the coat tails of the very same fighting men and women who have fought and suffered through the most horrible experiences that any of us could ever dream up. From The Revolutionary War all the way up to our current wars against terrorism and evil. Our Americans have fought and died to protect us and other countries across the globe from evil. Never have we asked for any land in return for the loss of our country men and women, never have we forcefully occupied land or enjoyed the spoils of victory, we have never asked anything in return but for a small plot to bury our fallen. And, this one day a year we give to those who died for our country. I know it's customary to say "Happy Memorial Day". But I observe nothing happy about this sullen day. So to all of our members and guests, I can say this. Let us memorialize those who have paid the ultimate price for us to live the lives we have in the greatest nation that ever graced the face of this earth. In remembrance, Memorial Day is observed. May God be with our fighting men and women, and protect them from harm and bring them home. John Morris The Patriot Woodworker
