June 1, 201115 yr The Patriot Woodworker woodworking community is always looking for feedback regarding our site. Please take a moment and let us know what you need on our site. What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? What would you like to see new here? What bugs you? What do you love about us! How can we keep you coming back and participate in our grass roots community of woodworkers, I like to say we are grassroots because we don't have big corporate backing, or a magazine hook that supplied us with the members we have. We won over our members the old fashioned way, with love and kindness So, give us your best shot, and let us have it! Thank you for your feedback John Morris The Patriot Woodworker Â
June 1, 201115 yr Good morning John,How can you improve on something that is perfect in every way now? These forums and the steering commitee are doing a fine job helping others and working to improve as they go along, by treating others as they would be treated them selves.
June 1, 201115 yr What bugs me....I still have trouble keeping up with new posts. I would prefer if the forum, somehow could let you know of new post with a color or just a something that gets your attention. I keep going between e-mail and forum, e-mail and forum or watch the dates on the forum. Especially, if I'm away from the forum a few day. I would like to see a mobile version of the site. The blogs, sometimes I struggle if I should do a blog post or a forum post? What is the better way to go, if any? Or what is the difference? I like the fact this is a good group of folks who are respectful, and we have a hands-on Leader in John Morris and as Ralph mentioned, Steering Committee doing a wonderful job. That's just me, not complaining at all, only thoughts rolling around in my brain. -Ace-Â
June 1, 201115 yr Perhaps having a page 1, page 2 link box on discussions. That way I could open the only the newer posts instead of having to open the original then scroll down to access the additional dissusion pages. Also agree with the mobile phone version. My blackberry doesn't often load the discussion pages correctly. But, thanks for the job done so far. I appreciate the hard work. Will
June 2, 201115 yr An active notification of a chat going on would be nice. I know we have talked about this many times and I believe something is in the works. It's not like you to ask and not act. But somethings cost extra monies, and with out the support it is hard to keep giving out of your pocket. Ace had a thought about a way to know or see newer posts in the forums. I always just went to the front page of the forum and looked to see when the last reply was, but if there was a way to add a menu choice to view new posts that would be nice. A mobile version for blackberry, i-phone, androids etc would be great. I can post and reply from my android but not participate in chat. That is a limitation on the phones browser. Uploading photos from my phone only allows me to add it as a link not use the top menu choice bar to include it in the message or post. I think I remember something about mentioned about this before and if yo need beta tester count me in. I can not honestly think of anything about this site that i don't like. The members are great, our host is trying very hard to make this a home style place to join, and doing a great job. The steering committee is helping and the forums helpers are great. Hats off to all that has made this a great place to be and enjoy.WayneÂ

June 3, 201115 yr Author Thanks Ace, did you know you can control your email settings? You can set your email to send you notifications of new posts only. Is this what your talking about? Also, you can flip the switch in the Forum area to show discussion by "Latest Activity" also. The mobile version, we are working on it!A blog, Ace, a blog is typically something you write to show us what your involved in, like an ongoing project that you can keep adding to as your progress develops. The following is the wiki definition of a "Blog" "A blog (a blend of the term web log)[1] is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.[2]Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (art blog), photographs (photoblog), videos (video blogging), music (MP3 blog), and audio (podcasting). Microblogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts." Use the blog format when you keeping a journal of a project, to show us your progress, and thoughts and photos.Use the regular discussion format for short hit and run entries and questions and input for other members. Thanks for your support Ace!Ace HoleInOne said:What bugs me....I still have trouble keeping up with new posts. June 3, 201115 yr Author Hey Will, are you talking about when you view a singular discussion, and the replies turn into 2 or more pages of replies? And as mentioned above, we are working on a mobile version! Thanks WillWill Downing said:Perhaps having a page 1, page 2 link box on discussions. That way I could open the only the newer posts instead of having to open the original then scroll down to access the additional dissusion pages. Also agree with the mobile phone version. My blackberry doesn't often load the discussion pages correctly. But, thanks for the job done so far. I appreciate the hard work. WillJohn Morris

June 4, 201115 yr John, I'll try to be more clear. When looking at the headline, it would be nice to have small link boxes along side the header that would allow us to go to pages 2,3, etc as they are added to the original discussion. It would allow the user to bypass already viewed pages and go to the last post/page. As it stands we always have to open the original discussion page, scroll to the bottom then advance to page 2 and on. Hope that was as clear as mud! Will
