Thanks to the infinite wisdom of the State of California (where I reside) our legislatures passed a bill that will tax purchases made through Amazons affiliates (me) thus supposedly bringing in more revenue to the coffers of the state. But, Amazon not appreciating the strong arm tactics of California, decided to just simply leave California, and cancel all contracts with their affiliates (me).

I received the wonderful email from Amazon yesterday when I came home from work. The email was polite, and to the point, simply put, because of your states new bill passed the other day, we are exiting California.

Gee, thanks California legislatures! How about if you guys just stay home for awhile and not do us any more favors?

Heard about this on the radio tonight on my way home from work. Did not sound like it was a done deal at that time. After reading this I see that it is. Sorry to say but this is going to be a big blow to a lot of little business people striving hard to make it in today's economy. I remember when they referred to Pennsylvania as the land of taxes. Truly heart breaking to read this.

Don't get me started on California.........

 

Here is one for ya. Our first trip ever (family) visiting my Mothers side of the family, who live CA. We were traveling on the highway. We were in the HOV lane, 5 of us in the car, (high occupancy vehicle)  I accidentally exited the lane too soon, I thought the double line of paint was only to identify the HOV lane. Oh know says the Cop, you crossed over a double yellow line and issued us a $300.00 ticket on Sunday morning. After discussing this ticket with the Cop for about 5 minuets...what an asshole...the ticket was all about the revenue.

 

Your State, as well as lots of others, need to get things figured out.

Hey Ace, you should have pointed out HE didn't have enough passengers to BE RIDING in the HOV lane AND he crossed the double yellow too!!!!

 

You want screwed up?  Whitman Started all that EPA s**t here in jersey with the car companies, no fault insurance, and alot of other crud and is now head of the EPA in california.

 

How's that for a payoff!!!!
