August 31, 201114 yr As we enter into the month of September we embark on the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. As you all know, we are a woodworkers website, on an equal level we are a site that supports our troops from all wars, and especially the wars on terror. For the next two weeks we are going to have an air of gravity on our site that honors and gives tribute to the fallen and the heroes that protect us from the evil doers who wish us harm.That fateful day when the Islamic extremists full of hate flew into the heart of our countries financial district, little did they know that they had once again, awaken a sleeping giant. We did nothing to deserve this treacherous act of hate. We were not in their country, we were not at war with them. Yet they hated our way of life so much, they hated our religion, our freedom, our love of life, our belief that all people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. They just flat out hate us. Why can they not just leave us alone? Because they believe that their religion is the only religion, and per their distorted belief system, they must conquer those who do not believe with them.I am here to say, these colors don't run. Never have, never will. The terrorist are on the run, they are out of places to hide, and they are a dying breed. Thanks to our brave soldiers, our fighting men and women who keep our shores safe, and quite frankly, keep the world safe, our service members are doing the worlds dirty work. Thank you American Service Members. May God Bless you, we appreciate you, we love you, and we Proudly Support The Wounded Warrior Project, and we are here for you.To all our Patriot Woodworkers, please support the men and women who keep our country safe. We take them for granted every day. We know they are standing post, with rifle in hand, and watching the wall. While we sleep soundly every night, while we are in our woodworking shops, making a wonderful project for our family, for our friends, for a customer, remember, the only, and I mean the only reason, your able to do this without fear of being harassed or killed by a bad guy, is because of our military men and women. Just think, I really want you to consider this, just imagine our country, our world, without the American Military. Do you really think the terrorists would just curl up and go away, and sing Cumbaya? No, they would invade our shores in a heartbeat, and take over our land.Just imagine this one last thought, what would of happened in our world if General George Washington never crossed the Delaware? I'll leave you with that.Â
August 31, 201114 yr As a "Wouded Warrior" my self I'll give a short bio just to establish street cred; Infantry, Marine Corps and recipient of a multiple of AK rounds and grenade shrapnel in the 2nd Fallujah of Nov 13 '04 while a Plt Sgt in K co1st Mar.   1st there is a big difference in Washington's crossing the Delaware in our struggle to escape the British yoke & taxation without representation, and our expeditionary war fighting on foreign soil. The fact that we are fighting a war on foreign soil is a consequence of this government of ours has been wizzing in other nations Cheerios for far to long.   The US government has been in the business of installing their puppet thugs in the various corners of the globe and what we have now is a natural and expected response. I can assure you many many Active Duty are becoming hip to this sentiment. The problem is not brown people of a different faith; it is much deeper than that.   You are right we weren't over there, but our government sure has been meddling for a generation.    My heart goes out to those who lost and continue to lose as a result of this nations escapades.  Semper Fi, Jon No Ref
August 31, 201114 yr Author Thank you for your service Jon, the reference to Washington was in context of the historical significance of him crossing and us becoming a nation. If we never became a nation, my thought was, what would the world look like today, everyone will have a different answer to this, but my belief is, our world would be ruled by dictators and thugs and if we were not a nation in existence, thus my belief, if Washington never crossed the Delaware, we would not exist, and our world would be a much different place. August 31, 201114 yr Thanks back to you John, good point. That was a big leap for Washington's rag tag assembly. I love US history. I must say General Smedley (Marine Corps General/2 time awardee of the Medal Of Honor) Butler's work "War is a Racket" offers a correct analysis that stand true today. In it he never condemned his fellow service members or military in general. But he sure hammered the Government for using the Marines as the bankers repo men and lining the pockets of the yet to be named "Industrial Military Complex". And he wrote it in '37. Can be read for free here (in about 25mins). http://www.lexrex.com/enlightened/articles/warisaracket.htm I started reading more when I was convalescing and after getting medically retired since I could no longer run and cycle. Ended up reading allot of things that were contrary to what I believed as a 13 year dedicated, career Marine. It was a good thing because initially brown people of Arab and Muslim origin were taking an unfair bias from me. I was not putting blame where it should have been. Sort of like my WWII / POW (Stalog) grandfather. Hated "Krauts" till the day he died. I associate my self as a Patriot in the form of the dissenting frontiersman of the 1770's. I think far to many confuse their patriotism to what really is "Toryism". Being from the South I have a bunch of red neck family like that. Love them all, but reality is they anit patriots, their loyalist. And if they don't wake up soon, they'll realize the full weight of the yoke they are wearing.   I'm in San Diego/Valley center; looking forward to the cool months. I bet you are doing the same. Best,Jon No Ref
