As you all know, we are a grass roots website with no backing from corporate sponsors, no advertisers on our site, we would love them to be on our site but we have had no takers as of yet on our ads space. I guess supporting our troops and recognizing those who have paid the ultimate price defending our freedoms is not politically correct with retailers and vendors these days.The ads you see on our home page are affiliate ads, meaning that they are not paying us to have those big nice beacons of capitalism on our home page, but they do pay us a 5 percent commission on all sales we generate when folks click on those ads, surf their site, and make a purchase. If you buy a chisel set for 100 dollars, we get 5 dollars. Thus far, we have not generated any sales from those ads, but I have hope.

When I built this site and made it live in March of 2010, I knew I had to throw money at it to keep it live and we would be in the red for awhile. I told myself I'd give this adventure a year, and if it failed to support itself, I'd have to shut it down. Well here we are 18 months later, the site is still struggling, and we are still in the red. At this point, I would love to thank those who have donated to our site, to help us with our overhead and to defray the costs associated with shipping our Challenge Coin Displays to our Wounded Warriors. You guys are the greatest, for a list of those who have contributed please go to the Honor Wall.

I know we are short of resources for our woodworker's here at TPW. But we are short of our own resources thus the shortage of resources for our members. When we can accrue funds, when can then start building our site, and add more fun features and content for our members. Original tutorial videos made by us, how to cut dovetails, how to apply a french polish video, contests and giveaways etc. But we are not there yet.

As you all know, we make zero profits from this site, myself and our volunteers, ask for no monetary or material benefit from this site. That is and never has been our goal, we are truly a non profit site, in every sense of the word. We ask for nothing, but perhaps a little help from our members to help us stay live. All money we receive from affiliate sales and donations are used to defray the costs of paying our host, and we use the funds for the shipping charges incurred as we send out our displays to our Wounded Warriors.

I know this is a hard sale to allot of you. If I were you I would be asking, "What do I get in return?". Well, to be truthful, nothing. Nothing at all comes back to you, unless of course you count the new friends you have met here, the good knowledge base your able to tap into, the way laid back atmosphere we have, and you are supporting us, and in return we are supporting our troops, the main reason we exist as a community. We have raised over a thousand dollars for The Wounded Warrior Project in the last 18 months, and we hope to continue to do so in the future. So I ask all of you, if you were to just make a small donation, perhaps 5 dollars, or 10 or more. Just imagine if all our members, all 600 members simply donated 5 dollars, the price of two premium cups of coffee. How about if just 70 of you gave up 10 dollars. That would nearly pay our hosting fees for the entire year.

You are under zero obligation to give to our community, we love to have all of you here, we are all in differing economic times right now, I completely understand. Nobody will be looked upon any differently if your unable to give to our grass roots community, please keep coming back and just have fun here. But if your able too, if you are in a good position, please give to The Patriot Woodworker Community.

If the powers to be, want us to stay live, if the good Lord sees that we can serve HIM in any capacity from our site, then I am confident HE will provide, and we will be here next month, and the month after.

Thank you to all for being here,

Arlin, I like the sound of your statement, "Our website" that is the feeling I have been trying to cultivate from day one around here. A vested interest to make us good, and to help other woodworkers accomplish their goals in their projects, and to ultimately help our warriors returning from war. Thank you Arlin.

The way to donate to our site is to go to Support The Patriot Woodworker or you can go to the tabs at the top and hover your cursor over Support TPW and click on Support Our Community. Thank you so much Arlin.

Hello John,

I requested for my Web Master to insert the Wounded Warrior Project into my web site and she did just that. So when you visit my web site and scroll down to the WWP logo and click on it here is what you will find;

Hello John Morris: I understand that my generous, tax deductible donation to the Wounded Warrior Project enables us to help the thousands of wounded warriors returning home from the current conflicts and to provide assistance to their families. As the number of wounded steadily increases, it is easy to see how the needs of these brave individuals also increase. Ralph Jones has directed my email to your attention to aid in making a one time donation. Please contact me right away. Respectfully,

I hope this brings more contacts and the need for donations. As you may already know that when I could I pledged $10 each month to the Wounded Warrior Project and if there is enough money left after paying for care givers for my wife I will do just that.
