10th OWAMMO's Gathering / Swap Meet - October 21 & 22

Greetins To All,

The first Old Wood and Metalworking Machine Operators (OWAMMO’S) Gathering was held in and around Dan’s shed on 5/7/2007 and so much fun was had by all that we decided to have 2 per year, so this will make our 10th OWAMMO’S Gathering. A few years back we decided that the OWAMMO’s Gathering needed more room so we chose the Branson / Hollister, MO area with the idea in mind to not only have a “middle of the nation†location to host our OWAMMO’s Gathering / Swap Meet, but in case you want to bring the family it provides an excellent place to be entertained. Last spring we held the OWAMMO’s Gathering in a huge back parking lot at the Ozark Mountain YMCA in Hollister and it worked so well that we plan to have our fall event there also. We have set the dates for the Fall 2011 OWAMMO’s Gathering for October 21 & 22, 2011!

Our OWAMMO’s Planning Team is comprised of people just like you that enjoy old wood and / or old metalworking machinery, vintage hand tools, and related interests and they have been working for quite some time now planning an event by which we can open the invitation to many. We would like to extend that invitation now to you!

Please join us in Hollister & Branson, Mo. on October 21 & 22, 2011 for a big old-fashioned “old wood and metalworking machinery swap meetâ€, and the associated exhibits / demonstrations / goodies that we have planned around this family oriented event. Obviously we cannot predict with accuracy the total numbers that may attend, but we are posting this invitation on about 20 forums and estimate a good turn out from about 20 or so states. We have had some interest in vintage hand tools, blacksmithing, and model engines over the years so we decided this year to invite several clubs and organizations from these 3 subjects to come have fun with us also. We are excited that many new people will be joining us who are akin to our interests. Also remember that the Hollister / Branson area offers a multitude of wonderful attractions, shopping, excellent restaurants, and things for the spouse and children to experience so please have your family look over the “Branson†link under “EVENT†on our web page.

Registration is now open so please go to our web site and register and please book your hotel room early as we have a limited number of rooms! Thanks again.http://www.owammos.com

While there you will also find more event information, motel information, scheduling, and other pertinent information regarding the event. Please check the web site often, as it has the most up to-date information regarding the event.

The cost for the gathering will be $25.00 per person for the two-day event if you register before October 15th, and your Spouse and children (under 18) get in for free!

We honor all Disabled Veterans, and for those Disabled Veterans who wish to attend our event we are waving all registration costs for your and your immediate family and we thank you for your service to our Country. Please send me a private email to oldtriumphs@hotmail.com and I will arrange to wave our registration costs.

Obviously you can stay wherever you like while attending our event, but we are making the Grand Oaks Hotel located at 2315 Green Mountain Dr. Branson, MO which is located in the middle of the entertainment section for the family, close to several restaurants, etc. We have reserved a block of rooms that usually are about $80 during the time we want and did get a "special" rate of $55.99 plus tax so if you want to stay there you probably need to book a room ASAP. Please ask the desk clerk for the OWAMMO’s Gathering Room Rate of $55.99 plus tax. If there are any questions please ask for Kathy (manager) or Bill (assistant manager).

Besides the machinery aspect of the OWAMMO’s gatherings, some of the best times are had when surrounded by like-minded people who share your enthusiasm for old wood and metal machinery, vintage hand tools, blacksmithing, model engine building, and the list goes on! New friendships are made and old ones rekindled and we believe that the friendships are a major reason to get-together.

We will update the OWAMMO’s Gathering web site from time to time, but please mark your calendar now for the 10th OWAMMO’s gathering.

For those of you that are not familiar with Branson, MO and the vast amount of entertainment that is offered there please look at our web site and you will find several links to familiarize you with shows, shopping malls, events, etc.

Branson is seemingly really encouraging flying to Branson and that is evident with the resonable air fairs as also seen on a link under the topic of “Bransonâ€Â

In closing we hope that you will consider attending our OWAMMO’s Gathering. We have already have indications that we will have people from both coasts, and other parts north, and as far to the south as Atlanta and Houston. I will try to gather names of attendees from these areas in the case you may want to car/truck pool. If you have any questions please feel free to send an email to me: oldtriumphs<at>hotmail<dot>com

Thanks again,

Dan and the OWAMMO’s Planning Team

OWAMMOs Gathering News & Update:

Greetins from the Ozarks,

I hope all is well with you and yours. The weather is cooling down in the Ozarks and it looks like we are going to have a beautiful fall.

We are about 5 weeks away from having another OWAMMO’s Gathering and if you haven’t yet registered please consider taking a few minutes to do that  using the “Register†button on our web site http://www.owammos.com along with securing your rooms if you wish to stay where most of the other OWAMMO’s bunch is staying as we only have a limited number of rooms blocked in and as soon as those are filled I need to get more as needed if any are still available. That will help me out on getting everyone a reduced rate on your room as if you wait until the first of October or the last minute you probably won’t get the good rates. To find the hotel information please click on our web page / click on “Event†/ and click on “Hotel Info†or the direct link is: http://www.owammos.com/Hotels.html Thanks ………

We have our invitation announcement on several sites and we are also trying to work out Ruckering requests, but please first post those on the various sites and then if no answer comes back to you then please contact me directly as we usually have a lot of machinery change hands coming in and going out from our event and I may be of assistance on knowing who is coming from where.

Remember this is a family event if you want to include them or if you are new or on the fence about attending please consider joining us as have a lot of fun, make new friends, meet old ones, talk shop, see some good demonstrations, swap some old machinery, eat a bunch of good food, and so on………For those that are bringing your wives and if they want to participate Carolyn has some shopping ideas that she is arranging for the gals and you can see those here on our site under "For the Ladies" and "Carolyn's Corner": http://www.owammos.com/Ladies.html

If you need a ride or want to car / truck pool please send me a note and I might have a thought or 2 on those matters.

In closing I really appreciate all the people that help put the OWAMMO’s Gathering together and make it happen, those who attend, and those who will be new this Fall.

Thanks again and we hope to see you @ the OWAMMO’s Gathering on October 21,22, 2011.

God Bless ~ Dan
