Paul you are also a busy person these days. I guess the new heating system has been getting a work out this winter.

Started working on 14 center pieces for a Valentines Day dinner for our church. They're a cross with a heart and stands on a heart base. Pics will be up as soon as I can.

I finished this one Sun. and that was about all I got done. We had some Church activities that took up most of the day, which we really enjoyed. I made this for a the guy from my Church that gave me a couple of trash cans full of his scraps and cut offs. I figured that he'll like the fact that it's made from wood he gave me. BTW he's a guitar maker too. It's teak and butternut.

Wow Greg, that is too neat. I am sure he will really appreciate it. Knowing that it came from some of his scraps will make it even more special to him.

Thanks for showing it.

I got all 10 of the frames glued up and out of the clamps. Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on getting the rough sanding done to get the glue off and level the joints and the edges cleaned up with 80 grit paper. This morning I loaded them all up in the cab of my pick up and will be heading over to my friend's cabinet shop after breakfast to have them all run through his big 60" dual belt sander to get everything all evened out. Then Friday and Saturday I will be working on the final sanding and getting them ready to stain.

Just got back home after having the frames run through the 50" dual belt sander (sorry, I had said it was 60" in error) and picking up another sheet of 1/4" hardboard for the backing as I was a little bit short. Forget having friends with political influence, I will take those with tools any day.Grin.gif

I agree with you. People didn't like Norm cause he had all of these nice tools. Hummm, I would love to have all of those nice tools and have certainly upgraded from what I started with.

Yep, I am with you, forget the political connections, come on friends with big woodworking tools.
