February 27, 201214 yr Alright everybody it's Monday , time to show off what you cut over the weekend. I got a couple things cut,  hopefully I can get them finished this week. This is going to be a regular weekly post for everyone to brag about what they have been working in the past week, just talk about scrolling in general. It's been a busy week at work, and I've had some other things going on this past week, so I really didn't get as much done in the shop as I wanted. This is one of Sheila Landry's patterns, cut from cypress and cherry plywood.  This is a pattern from  The Wooden Teddybear. I'm going to use a 1/4" round over bit on the edges of this one, hopefully it will turn out ok. And a couple of experimental chess pieces. I've been wanting to make a chess set fro a while now, so I've been trying some different patterns. Alright now it's your turn to show something off. Greg Scroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

February 27, 201214 yr Author John, I'll try to put a hanger on it so it can go on a wall, no it's not for use on the kids LOL. It's about 5 1/2" x 17". I saw the pattern in a catalog and it just caught my eye, they have several versions of it with different animals in them. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
February 27, 201214 yr That's funny, kids. I was thinking it might be shaped into a pizza paddle as well for the oven!Greg Aksdal said:John, I'll try to put a hanger on it so it can go on a wall, no it's not for use on the kids LOL. I'm also going to look at Diana Thompson's book on chess sets. Mike Dillen said:Great work Greg! I really like the paddle and the chess pieces. February 27, 201214 yr Author Could use it for a pizza paddle but it might get messy with cheese and sauce dripping through it John Morris said: That's funny, kids. I was thinking it might be shaped into a pizza paddle as well for the oven!Greg Aksdal said: John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
February 29, 201214 yr Greg,What professional workmanship!  Those are all just gorgeous!  The paddle is very impressive!  Didn't realize it was so large.  I can't think of anything more impressive than a handmade chess set.  Looking forward to seeing the finished set. SQHappiness is wood chips flying!

March 1, 201214 yr Author I don't play Wayne. I just want to make one because I enjoy compound cutting so much. I want to make a board to go along with it. This will be one of those projects that gets worked on in my spare time. Wayne Mahler said: GregNice work. Really enjoyed seeing the moose paddle. A chess set is on my bucket list. March 2, 201214 yr Greg, Where did you get this pattern? The wife just saw this, and said she would like one for her sister who is going through cancer therapy. Her birthday is coming up in June, so I might try making her one as a first project for my restored Delta 700 Scroll Saw. She's into anything with a wolf theme to it. March 2, 201214 yr Greg, Sorry about my goofup last night when I messaged you through chat. I didn't see your last post until after I messaged you. I had tried to access Shiela's site from her link in her members page, and didn't see it going that way. She has a lot to choose from. Thanks for the direct link. Â Larry OWWM Forum Host
March 3, 201214 yr Author Yea she has a lot on her site, some of the older patterns like this one are in the catalog. She has a link to download it on there. If you get on here mailing list she sends out a newsletter every month or so and 3 or 4 times a year puts up a free pattern. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
