Challenge Coin Display Campain No. 4 is Shipped!!!!!

Featured Replies

First I want to apologize for taking as long it did to get them shipped out. They were supposed to go out about three weeks ago and I had a hard time getting some preliminary information before they were shipped out.

They are out and should arrive in our Wounded Warrior Representatives hands in a week. For those of you who are new to our site, we recently embarked on our 4th Military Challenge Coin Display Build Campaign.

Please click on the preceding link to view what we do here on The Patriot Woodworker in addition to raising funds and awareness throughout the year for our Sailors, Airmen, Soldiers and Marines.

You'll see in our original call to build the displays that we were going to send the displays out to Brooke Army Medical Center, but our displays got diverted to the Wounded Warriors Headquarters in Florida to be handed out to some Wounded Warriors there by request from Jennifer Boyce, our onsite Wounded Warrior Rep. As is in the military, sometimes the marching orders can change with the wind, and that is what went on here. When we do our 5th Display Build, we will shoot for Brooke Army again unless our efforts get requested once again to another duty station!

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our 4th Challenge Coin Display Campaign and also those who donated funds to help us cover the cost of shipping the displays. This is a community wide effort and we all play a role in it either knowingly or unknowingly.

I am personally very proud of what our members have done in the past two years since we have been a site, and what we have accomplished for our troops could never have been done without our members and the folks who help run The Patriot Woodworker.

Let us not forget either our affiliate Woodcraft for allowing us to be a part of the Woodcraft Team of affiliates. When anyone enters through our Woodcraft portal at the upper right of our Home Page, and you make a purchase, The Patriot Woodworker gains a 10 percent commission from the sale. These proceeds are used to keep our site live, and to help fund our ventures into raising awareness and money for The Wounded Warriors and Homes For Our Troops. Thank you Woodcraft! Woodcraft as some of you may know, is an ardent supporter of our men and women serving our country. So for your woodworking and supplies needs, please visit Woodcraft for your next purchase, and please make sure you enter through our site!

So again, thank you all for participating, and thank you all for being here with us.

For a little back ground on the gentleman who is receiving your Challenge Coin Displays to hand out to  other wounded warriors, see the video below. His name is Andrew Coughlan and he is on staff with the Wounded Warriors in Florida. I inserted a letter in the boxes of displays telling Andrew to please pick a display out for himself. I am sure he has his share of Challenge Coins.

And thank you Mr Coughlan for taking on our displays and making sure they get to the intended recipients.

John, how often do you do the coin displays? I would like to provide some of our carved displays for the next shipment, as I’ve found a wood supplier that will donate the wood I need to build carve and paint a dozen or so.  In order to make that many I will need some time, so if you can let me know when you need them next, I can plan this out my project. Thanks

GAry if I may, I'll answer for John.  We try to ship displays out every couple of months.  There's no set schedule but rather when the need from WWP arises.  I find that if I make them and store them back I'll have the displays when they're needed.  Thanks for making them!

Gary, that is really nice of you sir. Our troops will love them. We will fire up another campaign as Ron said in a couple months, lets say we might shoot for June or July. As a matter of fact, we'll discuss further a campaign No. 5 to arrive by the Fourth of July. I'll contact Jen and find out about some new marching orders. We are very grateful Gary for any help we receive, I have seen your displays and they are beautiful.
