June 6, 201214 yr To the Veterans of WWII, thank you, for your selfless courage, your bravery, and your service to our nation. To the men who participated in the invasion of Normandy, no words can express our gratitude. D-Day, a turning point in securing France and the rest of Europe, to take back and give back to the people of Europe, and to fight evil where it stood. This was a war that was fought to directly preserve the freedoms of Americans here at home, and free people of all nations around the world. To all veterans of WWII, Americans, and our allied friends, God Bless and may you have found peace and comfort knowing you directly impacted the lives of millions of Americans and people around the world. To the Greatest Generation, our hat off to you, we owe you our lives and our freedoms we enjoy every day. June 6, 201214 yr You are correct Sir,We owe so much to our WWII veterans. The evils they faced are to this day not truly realized. They served in a time when the call to serve was an honorable obligation. They proudly went off to war, to protect their families and the country they loved. So thank you for the sharing this post. And very well said, Sir very well said.No greater Loves than God, Family, Friends, country, the sight of flying chips and the smell of saw dust.

June 7, 201214 yr Author Hey Joe, don't fret my friend. When 911 happened, we had a surge in enlistment by our youth, when the crud hits the fan on our homeland, our youth do step up. I have faith.Joe Lyddon said:That was quite an event... by very courageous men!A very 'Moving' picture...men helping the wounded & fallen... All of you Veterans...  Thank you for doing what you've done...  May God be with you...I wonder how many Men, Women, & boys would sign-up if we ever had another similar event such as Pearl Harbor?... I'm afraid that most of us would be sadly surprised...... What can be done?John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
June 7, 201214 yr  There was many more than just one D-Day. This was one of the few that over a Division was landed.   Most out in the pacific operations were under two Division LANDED.     Secondly, ever wonder how many of those people who made it ashore that June morning, made it to maybe the end of June? They used to say that a newbie in the Infantry in Europe would only last 6 weeks.   IF they were lucky!   These people didn't have a "short timer's outlook", they were there for the DURATION.    They were there until 1) end of the war, or 2) sent home in a casket.    There was a "third" option, due to injuries from combat.    There wasn't any of this 13 months and 15 days BS.'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
June 7, 201214 yr Author You bet Joe! It takes the worse in evil to bring out the best in our folks, we are normally a pretty passive society here in America, until you hit us on our land, then it's a hornets nest.Joe Lyddon said:Sounds good John...Thank you...I feel better now...John Morris said:John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
