What's Everyone Building

Featured Replies

We've had alot of discussions on the main page lately but nobody is talking about their latest project.  Anyone have anything in the hopper to talk about.  I'm getting ready to build a new router table so that I can begin building new kitchen cabinets for the LOML.  I bought a new Bosch 1617 router to hang under it and I took the lazy way out and ordered a MLCS 24 X 32 top with an aluminum insert.  Hopefully, Monday I'll be building the lower unit.  I'll have about $350 in the table but that's cheaper than $10,000 for new cabinets.  Maybe I can get Moody to come to Indiana for an extended visit to help.

So gang, what's on your bench?

I made a trip to the Amish saw mill on Saturday to pick up some 4x4 cedar post. I am building two Big Green Egg tables out of cedar. Still got three porch swings to finish up. Since we got a break in the heat maybe I can get back into the shop.

Want to make some more pepper grinders and salt cellars. My aunt wants an entertainment center, too. Oh yes, Mimi wants the house painted before summer is over, too.

I have started a split top workbench with a center well. Got my lumber cut to size. May get some more done now that the triple digit temps are gone.

I got to do the paint thing too Lew. Not looking forward to it either.

I got 3 mirror frames made up and did the final sanding yesterday so they are ready to go to finish. Now I have to get the garage all cleaned up from all the sawdust so that I can spray next week.

Allen, we have the same problem with dust.  If my project is small I can finish it in the barn loft.  If its large then i have to do a thorough cleaning.

Are you volunteering to come down? What size paint brush do you want?

I haven't been able to do any shop work since December with this remodel project going on.  Hopefully I finish it someday and then I need to find someplace to set up my shop and get my equipment moved from Michigan to Ohio.  So far I've got the master bedroom and bath, kitchen and most of the living room done.  Can't say that I built the cabinets like some of you are doing, these are just the stock off the shelf ones from Lowes.

Are those before and after pictures?

Paint brush?  We don't need no stinking paintbrush.

Sadly after this picture was taken the bowl popped off the lathe and hit the wall

I've had that happen.

I just did a cleaning of the shop and hopefully will get started on something next week. This week will be a right off as far as ww'ing goes.

But I did just finish a box as a gift for my cousins wedding last month.

That's gorgeous. The purple inlay really sets off the spalting.
