Hand Planes Received for Homes For Our Troops

Featured Replies

Dear Patriot Woodworkers

Our hand planes arrived on July 27th to our shipment location ! Due to logistics which were no fault of the shipper, we were not able to receive the planes until Yesterday. I got a glimpse of the planes this morning and they appear to be some cool tools that will bring in some funds to Homes For Our Troops. After I can establish a value of the planes, I will put them up on Ebay and here for auctioning. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Homes For Our Troops.

Awhile back we had a member here who asked for help, he was going through some hard times and he wanted to sell some of his tools to make up for his shortage.

Our members stepped up to the plate and bought $420.00 worth of hand planes on behalf of the The Patriot Woodworker Community.

We now have the planes in our possession, and as I stated a value will be set, and they will be up here and on Ebay for auction. So keep your eyes ready and look for our Homes For Troops hand plane auction to kick off here shortly!

Thank you Patriot Woodworkers for helping out,

I also build segmented ashtrays that I donate to a wounded warriors benefit. If I can ever make one for your program, let me know. This one is going to the guy that puts on the event. It's called the Quadstate Herff. It's a cigar aficionado event where the proceeds go to the program. These ashtrays have helped raise over $2000.00 dollars per event for several years. I'd be glad to help.ning-img-1025-25907-43.jpg

John, that is some great news.  Bill, I'm not a smoker but I appreciate beauty and that is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship!

What Ron said on both counts... I am a smoker and also enjoy Cigars, but I wouldn't use a peice of art like this for either ash.. Great work Bill!!!

I agree that this is way too beautiful to smother a cigarette in! Nice work!

I'm still getting my wood workshop moved and reassembled, but once done, I'll contact you on donating some canes.

Bill,

Those holders look large enough for Cigars?

Mind if I or you add as friends? I'll point you to a market........

Thanks very much everyone. Cigars only, no cigarettes allowed. It'll take me a few weeks to make another one anyway. Let me know where to send it to when you are ready. I'd send a plane too but I only have a couple that I use. Thanks to all of you that contribute to this wonderful cause.

I know that Joe, I'll do our own evaluation for the opening bid, thanks!

John,

The Shipper had the planes appraised...  Perhaps a copy of that appraisal would help in listing them on eBay?

Just a thought...
