Understandable why this had to come about.  As a point for all.  People sign up for different forums because of their interest in the topic of the forum.  Unfortunately when someone comes along and gets off track of the forum topic, it tends to drive people away from that particular forum.  As a former web administrator for several major colleges and universities I have noticed this happening.  In our woodworking forums we lose a lot of good input when people are driven away from the forums.  Please keep on track.  Thanks,

Phil Rasmussen

Hello John,

Thanks for bringing that out for we see enough of it on the TV and the last place we need it is here on the forums.

Thanks for the comments guys.

In all fairness the political commentary was allowed on our site for some time and encouraged by management as we saw it as a form of free speech. The posters are not to blame.

Now we are heading in a different direction is all. It has everything to do with becoming a more welcome community to all, specifically our troops who might be lurking and wanting to jump in. Our men and women who serve our country come from all walks of life, and we need to be representative of them.

Thank you all as you watch us grow and learn. I never said I was a Woodworking Community Pro, I have made many mistakes on here, but we just keep driving on hoping someday the word will get out about us that we are a good place to be, and more folks will want to call us home. I have hope. We have too much into this place to walk away, it has become a part of my family personally, and our volunteer work with our troops has enriched our lives on a personal level.

I like Scotch, woodworking and politics. But I never mix them.

I like my friends and my fingers. I'd like to keep them all.
