Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th

Featured Replies

On December 7th 1941, an evil act was perpetrated on The United States. The attack on Pearl Harbor.

Please join us as we remember those who fought, and died, on that fateful day.

Little did the enemy know, they had awoken a sleeping giant. This was the event, though as evil and disastrous as it was, this event would propel our country into Super Power Status. No longer would we be isolationists as we were before WWII. We learned our lesson.

Pearl Harbor, the beginning of the end of the reign of evil across Europe, Africa, and the South Pacific. The Patriot Woodworker's tip our hats to the men and women that served during WWII and along with our allies around the world defeated an enemy that was hockey sticks bent on controlling the world. As a country, we had different plans.

May God Bless those who fought and lost their lives on that fateful day of infamy 71 years ago today, and May God Bless those who protect us from evil today. And may the survivors of Pearl Harbor after all these years, find peace in their lives from the images of that horrific day.

I have been to the memorial .  A solemn occasion to say the least.  All adults were very respectfull but some of the younger adults with small children thought that it was a great place to jump and shout.  Upset several of us.  We also had the chance to visit "The Punch Bowl" (Cemetary of the Pacific).  Another solemn occasion.  God rest their souls.

We should never forget what happened on this day and the brave men and women that came to our countries defense! Too many people question why we have a strong military and why we spend so much money on our defense and the answer is there is ALWAYS someone looking to do us harm.

I visited the USS Arizona Memorial with my grandmother who raised six children by herself during the war before she passed in 1980.  It is one of the most solemn and beautiful places in the world.  While one can view the blue horizon of the harbor and smell the salt in the air you walk through the memorial and the sunshine beams down between the concrete walls.  I can still hear the choppy waves lap against the rusted metal of what remains of the submerged smoke stacks and one can only imagine the hockey sticks that those men endured on that Sunday morning.  There are still droplets of oil that float up to the surface and illuminate their blackened colors in the deep blue waters as a constant reminder that the remains of those brave souls are still below.

Amen, and salute.
