What did YOU get completed this weekend????

Featured Replies

I know - I'm late on posting this - first day on the job and I blew it.

ANYHOW

What did y'all get completed this past weekend?  As for me, a little Christmas shopping done, cleaned out the ole woodburner, prepared the travel trailer for its winter storage (even though we are planning a couple of trips), and other honey do stuff.  Not much saw dusting I'm afraid.

Swept the shop.

Other than that, nada! Vegged out. All our shopping is done.

Nothing !!! Got some stuff cut that needs to be finished tonight. Not doing any Christmas shopping this year either, all the gifts we give are going to be handmade, by either me or the wife. Got some venison in the freezer so all we need for Christmas dinner will be some veggies.

Had to work at my day job Saturday. Didn't get home till later in the afternoon so I didn't get to spend anytime in the shop.

Does a watch case and a flag case count?

Reindeer steaks, Greg?

we got some tenderloins,a ham and a roast. Might just use the roast for some stew.

It will be John. We never have stuck to the traditional ham and turkey. I've been known to put some ribs or a boston butt on the grill for a Christmas meal.

I got my two 4'-wide 17"-deep shelving units up  in my nascent brewery

Nothing fancy: oak ply, exposed edges,  BLO finish

Didn't get much done. But did get a chance to work on my secret project. hopefully I'll have some pic before the end of the week.

Phil, looking forward to seeing the pics.

I've been working on Deb's quilt rack and I got both side assemblies glued up and partially sanded. Today I'll receive my jig saw from amazon and will get the profile cut on the top rails of the side assemblies then final routing, sanding, install of the bottom shelf and quilt rails and then the finish. I'm running out of time but I hope to have it done by Christmas.

I was hoping instead of lap joints for the side assemblies to use mortise & tenons but I don't have the height on my bench top mortiser and didn't want to attempt it with hand chisels since mine are junk so I stuck with the lap joints called out in the plans.

Yep, we stay traditional for Thanksgiving, but on Christmas we try to do a prime rib roast, with a nice spicy crunchy crust! Ohhhhh, I can taste it now!

Finally got all three Appalacian Trail plaques finished.  I know - I didn't get them done last week end - but I was supposed to.  Lacked the quarters for the third one.  Guy is coming from North Carolina tomorrow to pick them up.  Anyhow, here they are.

Had to use the dreaded spiral blade to cut the letters since the smallest is about 22" high.  Thanks for looking.
