Lee Valley Fine Woodworking Tools 2016-2017 Catalog

Featured Replies

WOW! Yesterday delivered to my door was the full book version of the Lee Valley Fine Woodworking Tools Catalog. Over 490 pages of great drooling reading and bedtime dreams. I love the front cover, they are all Router Planes, look at the fantastic craftsmanship in these hand made planes, do you see the frogs!

That's what so amazing about the woodworking community in general (1) easily pacified just looking at a new catalog  (2) enjoy viewing and appreciating someone else's work as much as or more than your own (3) sharing work or tool collections not to boast or gloat but to inspire others to do likewise.

OK John, I know you'll "spank me" for this, but maybe all of us work workers (and wanna be's like me) should band together and establish our own "political" party...if we could convert everyone to wood-working, tool collection and preservation and participating on this site, how great would our country be then?

...and when we elect a President and he/she puts together a cabinet...we would all cheer at the craftsmanship instead of rioting...yeah...that's the ticket...

As long as we can come to agreement on joint types...pocket hole, M&T, biscuit, dowel, Domino, dovetail....decisions, decisions... and of course the "platform"...Trex, cedar, PT...blind screws or face; covered, opened, trellis...more decisions...and don't get me started on what kind of donuts for the National Convention...

Wait...are you saying there are things woodworkers would disagree on...???? :o  (I meant "debate", not disagree)

;) Well maybe????given enough donuts, bacon, coffee, sweet tea...everyone would mellow, talk about the "good 'ole days", and after a quick nap, might engage in a spirited discussion until lunch was served...:P

If that's the Party's agenda...I'm in...

...just thought of something...when we have a "press" conference, do the participants need to be rescued from the rust pile...?

...and all the party members would carry 45's...Stanley, not caliber...

:P that would have to be reserved for the Honor Guards or "Sargent at Arms"...or special forces...only a few with that esteemed & distinguished possession.

Sounds great, but in the real world there would be opponents who would probably start calling us a bunch of WOODIES.

In this day and age, no matter what, SOMEONE is bound to be offended over SOMETHING  small and insignificant that does not really mean anything to the rest of the free world. And the not free world for that matter
