Penn State Industries keyed chuck has been given some bad reviews over the years. I bought one when I first started turning and still have it. I have used it a lot over the years and it has stood up to the use fine. When I decided to buy a set of Cole Jaws I bought from them since I don't do bowls often and they offer quite the deal. It comes with their Tommy Bar chuck which I have grown to like as the best style chuck for me over the keyed chucks. Here is their offering. https://www.pennstateind.com/store/CUG3418CCX.html?utm_source=Google_Shopping&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=&utm_term=CUG3418CCX&gclid=Cj0KCQiAq5meBhCyARIsAJrtdr70ldWCA_YmLJ606Nrzu2Q_cEi44g6K3bWv-v2lWtTpmg-0b7wwgpAaAksvEALw_wcB I also like the idea of the jaws that come with their chuck sets too. I turned those little bowls and this set of jaws worked great for that. One inch diameter when closed and came with their keyed chuck. I also use them for pens, Yo-Yos, tops and many other items. I found some 4" squares I had saved and decided to turn them into small bowls too but wanted a slightly larger set of jaws and found I had two sets of these that didn't get much use. I cut the small nodes off and was left with a set of 1 1/2" jaws. Perfect. I mounted them on the keyed chuck and the Cole Jaws were on the other. I am thinking another of their Tommy Bar style chucks is in my future. I have three OneWay Talon chucks that I keep different size dovetail jaws on for larger items. They are great too.
