I started with this small picture then kept playing around with Rapid Resizer making a slimmer taller picture I used for this next clock. I have one 3 1/2" push in clock movement I wanted to use before I order more movements. Problem was the picture I started with was too short so I resized it and it came out too tall and fat then I resized it the last time and made a few small sections to help use up all the wood I had glued up for this project. So this is what I ended up to carve and not wasting any of this nice maple. I'm starting to get the feel of what I'm wanting when I start experimenting with Rapid Resizer I came real close not being able to push the scroll sawn pieces out of the 1 1/16" maple and I made about 16 or 18 small pieces of all the carving so I can grind, carve, the shapes I'm going to try and make before I'm through. I forgot to take a picture of all the pieces but I'll do that tomorrow. You can see where I added two short sections of the picture to have some carving around the clock dial. I find it helps if I leave the patterns on and use them to start the carving process.....might say I'm lazy but getting smarter at this so called carving exercise!!! I like the wood to be nice and thick to give me lots of highs and lows I started this project this afternoon today and the end of tomorrow if I work in the shop tomorrow will make a big improvement on what it will look like!!!!
