Let's face it, while we like to think we have the memory of an elephant the reality is, no we can't. I'm not talking about the selective memory we have when asked to take out the garbage for the 46th time this week. We all have stuff in the shop, and lots of it. As a auto mechanic I have a rather large tool box, boxes really, and I use them daily. Some many times a day others rarely. And to keep where they are straight I don't like moved to another drawer, or even buying a new box and rearranging where everything goes. Slows me down and time is money. Now at home I am not worried about the time is money deal. But I would like to spend less time looking through drawers for something and more time actually making stuff. For many years I have labeled some drawers but nothing serious. No more, in between projects for the moment I decided the time has come to label stuff, like everything. My neighbor jokes with me about being a "mini home depot". Seems he wasn't too far off the mark. Took me quite awhile to organize all those screws, nuts and bolts and while doing so I am wondering how did amass such a collection? Never mind all the tools. Two nights progress: Don't worry, I have plenty of tape.
