Finish. Cherry Blank with Wipe-on Gloss Poly Finish. I am going to try one in gun metal finish. Ive shown this to several Vets at Bruce Post VFW, where I help out as Bugler for funerals, and strangely more of them were interested in a bolt action pen. There is a brand new patriotic themed pen kit that has a bolt action and a similar flag clip with eagle and it also has three different etchings available for the nib: Statue of Liberty head with "God Bless America" on the cap end. A saluting Serviceman on the nib end with "salute the troops" on the cap end. The last one has the eagle that is on the great seal (one with arrows in one tallon)and "God Bless America" on the cap end. I think any of those three pens will be very popular with the Veterans I know. To a person - man or woman they are some of the most patriotic people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. One of the funeral ritual team is a World War II veteran who still comes out to fire the volleys for the fallen Veteran. I so admire him.
