Mesquite box to hold my Daughter-in-law's Glock.

Solid Mesquite, turquoise and epoxy to fill the voids.

Mesquite harvested and milled by yours truly.

What type of finish has been applied?  Are the splines also mesquite?

Being as I'm in my butt joint phase, those splines are giving me ideas. Thanks!

Not, really. Just a walnut scrap that caught my eye.

Cal, sorry I missed your post. 

The finish is a coat of medium walnut Watco, wiped off after a few minutes. Followed with two lightly sanded coats of Helmsman's Spar Urethane and finally, JPW applied with some very fine steel wool.

The splines are walnut.
