Walnut & Cherry Box

Small box/chest.    Black Walnut frames holding raised panels of Flame Cherry.

Lid is all black Walnut.   Brass hinges.   Lid has a carved finger rest under the front lip.    Bottom is a panel of 1/2" poplar. 

2 coats of Amber Shellac, and 1 coat of Clear Gloss Poly....

Stands 9-3/8" tall, counting the lid.   Sides are 10" wide, plus a 1/2" over hang  from the lid.   Box is 15-1/2" wide, counting the lid.   Cherry panels are 1/2" thick. Walnut panel in the lid is 3/4" thick. 

Corner joints are Tongue & Groove glue joints, no metal fasteners used.
