January 27, 201313 yr I was out today spending the day with my wonderful wife. She was shopping and I was walking around looking at the display furniture in some of the stores we went in. I came across the three stools and thought, wow those are cool and would be fairly easy to make, wonder how much the are selling for? What is your guess? I mean they are not all that big, Maybe 12 to 14" across the top and maybe 15" tall. So what do you really think these would be worth? What could you sell them for? You are not going to believe this. I need to be selling them a bunch of these. okay so I gave you a hint. Do you think you miss read that? That is a piece, not for the set of three. Not sure how you could prove they were c. 1950 other than take there word. That price is right. Here is a close up just in case you didn't blow up the picture. Yep, $788.00 each. You better get busy cutting sum stumps and carving them out with the chain saw. John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

January 27, 201313 yr Problem isn't making them, it's finding a couple hundred people to spend that amount to buy em.
January 27, 201313 yr I've always believed that the only true difference between "art" and "craft" is the asking price. Those stools are approaching "art".Thanks, John.รย Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' January 27, 201313 yr Author Your right Mike. My thought was how long have they been sitting there, since 1950? Fred I have no idea. I believe there is someone out there that will, now how many I have no idea. John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
January 28, 201313 yr If they are really antique pieces, it's may be worth the price but still they are way too expensive. Maybe I'll try to make one and add some rustic charm to it.
