January 27, 201313 yr  got up this morning, NO PAIN! went down to the Dungeon Shop, as I had three more legs to do. Used a pair of long screws to attach the blank to the bench top ( such as it is) and ripped three more blanks out of the old 2x.   Left me with a strip of 2x 1" thick scrap. Never fear, I tend to re-use any scraps. Went back to the steps used yesterday, in removing saw marks, crosscutting the leg to length, laying out tapers, and planing to the lines. Used a #6, and a #5 alot doing these The #6 was more as a clean up, as the two #5s did most of the cleanup. Same thing with the non-tapered legs. remove saw marks, and nails. NAILS?  Yep, had a few. Drove them down through the blank, visegrip to hold it, clawhammer to pull tem. Those that were a might too short to go out the other side?   Bury them!  Way down deep!   Once I had everything nice and planed almost smooth, I got out a BRAND NEW & IMPROVED Millers Falls #8, Type 4 Smoother. Just a few swipes on each face did the trick.   As a crosscut saw, well being a Neanderthal Type of guy.Little rust spots, not a big deal in a Dungeon.  This is a "Hybrid" saw, my way.  A Steigo-Disston Panel saw. With two Medallions.  All this shaving wood, makes a messthe area underneath the vise.Looks like I have "KP" today, no Igor, again.   Next up? Aprons, and a two piece top to glue up.  Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
January 27, 201313 yr Bandit,You're gonna have to repaint that dungeon entrance wall or you'll never get the shavings swept. At least by Igor.Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
