January 28, 201313 yr Not sure how long this can stay in "Hand Tools" , but here goes: Got all the legs done yesterday, put the two planks into the clamps to glue up a top.   This morning, went down to clean the now dry top This si the underside of the top.  Used to be, before I cut it in two, a side from a waterbed frame. Yep, shop does "Recycle". Plane is a #6 small jointer, just cleaning things off, like high spots, old finish, and any remaining junk. Did the same to the "topside" of the top, and then went over the good side with a finishing planeThem knots are a #$##$!  Anyway, set up to produce the aprons for the table.  I set up where the legs were to go on the top, measured for a 1/2" tenon on the end of a board, went to the other end of the board and laid out the other end.   Next a little Cardio Workout.Four aprons x two ends= WHEW!  Just an old , but sharp, 20" Panel saw.  Next, some fancy stuff. Don't like plain aprons, have to have some curves to them. Got the short aprons cut to rough shape on the bandsaw. Must have worn that saw out. Bandsaw crapped out on me, and I still had two LONG aprons to cut.  Hey, I know, I'll go "Green"!Hey, I do have to use this by hand, right.  I replaced the blade, twice, and got the aprons all rough cutI was even using the "new" table top" as a bench.  Next up?   I have to cut some tenons, and make a few holes to stick them into. Tp is 36" long, give or take a few 1/16ths.   Aprons are 1" thick. Top is about 1-3/8" thick, after all that plane work. That's all for now, from the Dungeon Shop. Stay tuned... January 28, 201313 yr Thanks for the peek Steve. It can stay in hand tools as far as I am concerned because it actually is about the hand tools and what you did with them.Charles NichollsSite Hostnicholls61@att.netProud supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project, Homes For Our Troops and the NRAhttp://www.etsy.com/shop/nichollswoodworks
