Hope this is the Intro forum - I am not finding it quite intuitive to navigate around yet. The only place I could find to start a new thread is in the "My Discussions" section.  I landed here in this thread from a SEO search (just bought a PM66 and looking for some ideas). I also noticed in the thread member Shane restored an Oliver 270D and since I have one of those too that thread was doubly interesting to me. From there I started checking out the rest of the forum and was impressed by the caliber of membership and so here I is . . . .

I operate a couple of woodworking-related businesses and like to pretend I make enough money at them to say I'm not yet retired. I also like to frequent select forums - but mostly I just read archives regarding specific topics I am researching at the time. I do use SEO i.e. google etc., but mostly when I want to read up on something or get ideas I'll go directly to one of a handful of forums I belong to and do the search there. I find that this helps cut to the chase usually and getting to the meat as quick as possible and cutting through the red tape has always been my strategy in life. I don't always succeed but you got to at least have a plan.

Although my woodworking has been relegated to mostly a dim memory the past 20ish years due to work, I'm finally starting to spend more time polishing up on my skills and building a few things again. I do flat work and am a novice spinner with a midi lathe only, so no big turns under my belt yet. Look forward to spending some time here when I can. Kevin.

Hi Kevin,

There are a few of us old machine nuts running loose around here.

I'm working slowly at getting a small shop of old Delta machines set up to hopefully supplement my pension.
