February 6, 201313 yr Beautiful spalting patterns on that last piece, Charles! What type of finish did you use?Lew Kauffman-Wood Turners Forum HostTime traveler. Purveyor of the world's finest custom rolling pins!
February 6, 201313 yr Author Hi John the first two images are the magnet, the last image with the spalting is a box that I made recently It's about 6.5" tall and about 2" wide give or take a bit. I should have put something there for size ref. Lew, both pieces are done in bees wax and mineral oil. That is pretty much my finish of choice lately unless I am doing pens Then it's CA or non food safe things, then its paste wax and mineral oil. Granted, you dont want to use the box for food items anyway because of the spalting, but the finish is handy and looks great. Thanks guys Charles NichollsSite Hostnicholls61@att.netProud supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project, Homes For Our Troops and the NRAhttp://www.etsy.com/shop/nichollswoodworks
February 7, 201313 yr Charles might I suggest placing a 2 bit piece or better known as a quarter adjacent to items in your posts. That works very well for giving actual size reference.Â
