February 12, 201313 yr I got a bit of shop time in this past weekend and last night. I got the blanks for the first end grain cutting boards planed and ready to cut and glue in the end grain part. This will end up making seven boards. Three large, two medium and two small. And I also got the blanks ready to make up 10 bread dipping trays. I should finish the bread trays tonight and get the glue ups on the boards. So how about you all, how are your projects coming, did you finish them over the weekend or are the still in progress like me? Share a few pictures and show us where you are? February 12, 201313 yr John, your boards are looking really nice. I am always impressed how you have it down to a science now, making many boards at a time. I am very happy to see business is still booming with the boards, you never thought this would happen did ya!!!!!!! I did get the final coat of finish on my customers settee, here it is shown without the deck boards in place yet. I am going to assemble the settee today and deliver this weekend. It has been awhile, since being down with the flu or cold since what seems like before Christmas in one way or the other, and our weather here has been very wet and cold seems every weekend up until this weekend, it's been hard to get the final finishing on it. I purchased reproduction solid brass casters from Horton Brasses, we definitely breathed new life into this settee. Before: After: This has been a fun project, I spoke our very patient customer on Sunday and he is excited to have it in his home finally. And I am excited to deliver it! February 12, 201313 yr Lew, the pic does no justice to just how much they are popping! It is completely translucent, and the depth is incredible. February 14, 201313 yr Guys, thank you all for the kind comments, I cannot wait to deliver it. For me that is funnest part, even more so then the actual build, I love seeing customers reactions. I cannot think of a time that I have ever had a negative reaction from anything I have done for others, and it truly is rewarding. So, here to batting a 1000 when this one is delivered! Thanks again guys, my ego is now large again,John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project
