February 16, 201313 yr Two old hand planes came to the house last weekend, looking abused.   Rusty, broken handles, just general neglect.   Spruced them up. Now it's time to show them off!Shavings are an old Oak board's edge grain. The Blue/Green Worth #4.   @ 10-1/4" long, this is one long smooth plane.  As for the small-fry?Brass bolts are shiny, again.  Sporting a spanking brand new (to this plane) tote on the back porch. This is a "Private Label"  Hibbards True Value #3.  Adjuster wheel is Steel, not brass!  A group photo?Look a little better?? Maybe others out there have a "Restoration they would like to share?   Post it here... Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

February 18, 201313 yr Author Simple rules for this.   Merely show an item as a "Before" and as an "After", with maybe a short story about it. it came be just about anything you'd like to "Show off".   Doesn't have to be just handplanes. It can be sawsa "Before'and an "After" Could be a chisela "Before"and the "After' Just a little corner chisel. It can be just about any hand tool, or power tool. Have fun with this..
