February 17, 201313 yr Greetings from the Craft Show at Amacalola Falls State Park, Georgia.I ran into a pen turner here that told me about a vendor he uses that, according to him, is better than Pen State. I wanted to pass along his information and see what you turners think. March 1, 201313 yr Ryan and Fritz at Woodturninz are great to deal with. They sell PSI (Penn State) pen kits, blanks, hardware, and tooling, but at a lower price than buying direct from PSI. I don't but kits from them just because I like using higher end plating, which is an area PSI products is lacking in, but I buy most of my acrylic blanks, all of my pen mandrels, and other tooling from Woodturnings.Just so you know, if there is anything on PSI's website that you want and don't see it on Ryan's website, just shoot him an email and they can get it. They'll save you a few bucks as well.FYI - I'm not associated with those guys, just a long time satisfied customer.
March 1, 201313 yr When I was at school I was buying some from Woodturninz, they were good guys to deal with. I started out with Slimlines from PSI but the kids were screwing them up too bad. I switched up to Comforts and that went a lot better. Then the Funline stuff came out but Woodturninz wasn't handling them so I went back to PSI for them. Haven't done any for a year or so but looking to get back into it soon.Â
