February 21, 201313 yr Author Thank you all for the wonderful compliments, I'll tell ya what, when your working with curly maple, the wood does all the talking! It really makes us woodworkers look good! This was a neat job to have this one. I wish you all could have touched and felt it, the finish was smooth as all could be, and the curls just absolutely popped out at ya. It was a fun one.John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project
February 25, 201313 yr So fine looking and elegant settee, like the gorgeous wood and the incredible finish. Great craftsmanship and great job!To know but not to do is not yet to know.WWW.SAWBLADE.COM
February 25, 201313 yr Author Thanks Claude! The stain does really match, the camera seems to pull the darker aged wood from the arms and legs, but overall, in real life, the match is identical.Claude Bradford said:So fine looking and elegant settee, like the gorgeous wood and the incredible finish. February 28, 201313 yr Author Thanks Cliff, my wife wanted to do just that! Funny, we have only a handful of items in our home made by me, the town we live in has the rest! Kind of like that saying, the cobblers kids have no shoes. LOLCliff said:I'd tell him it was lost in fire. March 2, 201313 yr That design is worth ripping for your own version. The lumber in that thing is special. You matched the grain you replaced parts with very very nicely
