February 22, 201313 yr A few days ago I posted a link to folding trivet: http://littlegoodpieces.wordpress.com/2011/11/14/folding-trivet-rou... that is pretty cool and utilizes scrap pieces. Then along came another person that came up with what in my mind is a better process that gives a way to use contrasting woods. Here is a link to that process: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/79906 I put these together last night. 2 are made from walnut & oak and the other 2 are maple and cheery. They are 3/4" X 3/4" X 12". They are very easy and quick to make and are cut out on the scroll saw. The finish is 3 coats of Danish Oil. Thanks for viewing! Critiques and ideas welcome! www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
February 22, 201313 yr Thanks for sharing, Mike. Â Yes, contrasting woods make them look better. Â What kind of a price tag would you put on something like these????Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.com'Soooooo many patterns - sooooo little time'Scroll Saw Forum Host
February 22, 201313 yr Author Fred I'd think about $5.00 each would be a good price. All told it took approximately 1 hour to cut & assemble and 10 minutes to apply the finish. I could have made 10 of these easily in 1-1/2 hours by using an assembly line method. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops

February 25, 201313 yr First off, Mike I always admire how you just get to work and do it. You see something cool on the internet and there is not ho humming or anything, you just jump in and wham! There it is.That's a great idea on the contrasting woods, I like it.As far as critiques, awesome! I have to build some now.John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project
February 25, 201313 yr Author Thanks John! On some projects I do a lot of Ho HUMMING, like the Morris chair I want to build. Eventually I'll get there but I still got some Ho Humming to do. I'll be posting some pics soon on 2 Tongue Drums that are under construction.www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
