Friday Feb the twenty tooth - what's on your woodworking agenda this weekend?

Featured Replies

Wow - Friday is here again.  What do y'all have on your agenda for this weekend?

As for me, since I have Federal Jury Duty next week, I will be putting the finishing touches on projects getting ready for our next craft show in Forsyth, GA the weekend of March 8 and 9.  Several new pieces as well as making frames for stuf that I found without them, and a few more maps.

How about you folks?

ning-000-0001-00-16637-99.jpg?width=721Well since I have a box lid in glue drying stage, I'll be working on pens for at least today and most of tomorrow. Then I'll be finishing the box and then back to more pens. A few honey dippers too if time allows.

For size reference thats about a 2" wide piece of Black walnut.

Have a safe weekend all.

Finally getting around to designing a storage case for the knives I've made. Maybe try my hand at one of those folding trivets Mike posted.

Today I made trim for mama's new kitchen cabinets (Yes, I'm three months behind)  Tomorrow I'll hang it.

This picture is a week old and doesn't show the whole project but this is the top of the computer/carsft desk that I built for my daughter.

Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

Steve,

Those are some nice bevels! The whole table is sweet, but the bevels are exquisite.

Nice place for a TV!

Steve, it's amazing what you can do with "scrap" wood.

Well it looks like I'll be making a needle case today and getting it in the mail Monday, Just got an order for one about an hour ago :) and yep that's made from scrap wood too :) If anyone wants to send me some scraps of any kind, please contact me. I am starting to get low on maple and black walnut/walnut.

Thanks.

Ya gotta love scrap wood.  Sure makes the "cost of project" drop, eh?

There are so many projects that can be made from scrap. I mostly hang on to scrap for jigs and now the folding trivet gives me another item to make from scrap. When my scrap pile gets too large I take it to the recycle center on Free days. Which reminds me I need to sort my pile and make a run.

Still nothing woodworking related due to my bum shoulder (I see the Orthopedic Doctor on Tuesday). But now that we got some clear and sunny weather for the next week with temps in the mid to upper 60's, it was time to work on the weeds all around the house. My wife pulled the various weeds in the front yard and in the raised planters, while I got out the 2 gallon sprayer and went through 6 mixed up gallons of weed killer for the slope. Now I am sore from climbing around up there and my shoulder is throbbing. Time to watch the NASCAR Nationwide series race that is recording on the DVR.

Good luck on Tuesday Allen. Hopefully it's nothing too serious.
