Tule Peak Armoire

Featured Replies

I have received some very cool pictures, of a massive Armoire underway at Tule Peak Timber. You guys know we have good friend Rob Durfos who owns the establishment, and he likes to share some of their work with us from time to time, and he sent in some photos of this exceptional quite massively huge Armoire in the makings, feast your eyes on some serious lumber! The doors are made first I think as I have not seen any pics of the case yet, so I am thinking that the case is going to be fit to the doors, I'll probably get an update on this if that is fact or not soon as Rob peeks in from time to time, but the craftsmanship in the doors is pretty dang cool. Imagine the size of the Armoire!

EDIT: Here is a quote from Rob Durfos,

The start of a built in armoire.
The armoire is an original design from local woods and will be 12 feet
x 12 feet with both sliding and hinged doors. The two doors shown are
quarter sawn live oak with twisted "spun " panels. Mortise and tenon
construction.

At the time he wrote this I believe he only had two doors completed, but as you can see, we now have 4 doors. And it looks like since it's built in there may not really be an actual case going on here as much as a full built in unit using the side wall construction of the home.

Can't wait to see the completed build. That's some gorgeous wood.
