March 9, 201313 yr  Is NOT off to a good start.   One store had a little #3 sized plane, by Worth.    Bottlecap adjuster and all.  And, they wanted almost $18 for it?    Pass. Restore Store had five handsaws, most were worth somewhat less than the $5 they wanted for it. Pass. Another place:  One could smell the rusties on the way in the door.  kept looking, high and low.  Hmmm, I can smell it, where is it?   Ah, hidden on a bottom shelf!a RED jack plane.   Made by/ for Corsair.   $8 out the door.  Brass adjuster wheel, real wood handles.  Took it apart when I got back to the shop:I never have seen a frog with a single bolt holding it.   But, there it is, a single bolt.   There is not much wiggle room either, it slides just a little bit, back and forth.  The iron has a Stanley "Clipped corner" logo, on the back side, not out front where it can be seen.   I sharpened the iron, and flattened it a bitLength is 13-3/4" long.  Iron is 2" wide.  I might finish stripping the handles, and add a coat of red paint to the body.  Might be headed for Ebay..... Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
