March 12, 201313 yr I started working on a slant front tool cart last week. The case is made from maple plywood with poplar edge trim and cross frames, 4 " casters 2 fixed & 2 double lock casters. The drawers are made from pre-finished maple plywood with 16" full extension ball bearing drawer glides. The drawer fronts will be made from poplar. I still need to apply the stain on the sides and then poly clear coat. When I applied the stain I wasn't thrilled with it once it dried but I believe once the poly is applied it should look better but like a dummy I didn't try it on a scrap piece. Lesson learned. The drawer fronts will be finished with BLO and after a week or so I'll clear coat them with poly. I'll post pics once it's completed. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops

March 12, 201313 yr Author Thanks John & Lewis. Next I'll be inlaying some accent bands into the drawer fronts and then bevel the edges to kind of dress up the front of the cabinet. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
March 15, 201313 yr Author Finally got the drawer fronts machined. The drawer fronts are poplar with accent stripes and routed a 45 deg bevel around perimeter of each drawer front. I'll be applying the finish over the next few days. Thanks for your comments! www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
