March 20, 201313 yr Yesterday I posted a tip that I had found on line for storage of hand saws. This is the completed product. The plan calls for 3/4" dowel to act as the holding device for the saw. For heavier saws the bare dowel works fine but for lighter saws the bare dowel doesn't grip enough to securely hold them in place. My fix was to wrap the dowels with a small strip of duct tape. The dowels now hold the lighter saws very firmly in place. When you cut the dowel to length cut them approximately 1/8" shorter than the slots depth. This will eliminate any binding between the dowel and the front & rear face of the holder. Yesterday Dragon felt there could be a safety issue with the cutting edges facing outward and I agree so I mounted mine in a corner that is out of the way but within easy reach when needed. www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops

March 20, 201313 yr Author Since I don't use hand saws a lot I wanted to get them out of the way but still have them handy and this fills the bill.www.thepatriotwoodworker.com Proud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops
March 20, 201313 yr Now that is pretty cool. Looks a lot better than just putting them on a peg hook like I have the ones with holes in the blade.John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
