March 28, 201313 yr  A small block plane arrived todayLooking a bit dirty.   Maybe it is Dirty Dingus Magee? Another look at this old boy The nmbers 306, and 307?    Means this was made by Sargent.   It was sod at a Sears store, back in the day.  It even had a fancy wheel to set the depth of cutSo, here at the Dungeon Shop, we have a 12 step program for such things, 12 steps to get down to the Dungeon, that is.  Took a wire wheel to things, and a grinder to the blade. Didn't like the old knob, and replaced it. and took the now completed plane on a trip along the edge of a pine board. Starting to look better?"DUNLAP"   APPROVED   BL is on the iron.   Bolts are shined up.even that fancy wheel is looking better.    Just a small block plane, and MAYBE 1/2 an hour in the shop. Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
