Toolbox in the van

Featured Replies

I finally remembered to bring it into the house. ning-sdc14744-14985-15.jpg?width=750Just an old plastic one.   The tote is for a saw that a grandson broke the tote on.     As for that other item on the lid?ning-sdc14745-14985-43.jpg?width=750Handmade "V" groove plane.    There is a cove cutting one in the toolbox as well.  Also in this old boxning-sdc14746-14985-90.jpg?width=750two plane bodies, a couple more totes, and about a dozen lathe chisels in meed of a sharpening.    Seems my lathe has been down in the new shop all this time, and without a single chisels to use on it.

Old broken tote is now in the trash can, new one is drilled for the bolts.    Will get them fitted tomorrow, maybe.

Oh yeah, there are a few other boards in the back of the van.    Maybe I should bring them in, out of the cold??

Tool box came from the old pole barn shop.    Along with a stash of wood.    Also had an old steel framing square.    Put that to use in laying out center lines on the table top.    When the shop was moved to the Dungeon, the second load had the lathe,   but  no chisels showed up.    I wound up going back out there to load them up.    Found the old toolbox out there, and loaded it up.

Handle/Tote is now repaired and on the saw.   Old handle is in the trash can.    Found an old "Coffee Table" by Mersman.     It was being tossed due to it just falling apart.     Reclaim, reuse, recycle!    NOW I have a set of fancy legs for the new Walnut table build.    I even saved a couple aprons ( only ones still in one piece) to use as a pattern for the front and side Walnut ones.     Trace them out on the walnut slab, and then maybe keep them around for another day.

I am missing so many small tools over the years, I go out and buy a new one, just to find 3 like it a month later!
