My first guess was Walnut.

Sometimes, monitors display colors differently than in real life. It could be Mahogany or even Padauk.

Sorry to be so vague.

I was thinking walnut at first. Mahogany I can see too with the lack of grain pattern.

The individual that asked me about the wood said the person that made this piece said it was rare! Doesn't look rare.

The color is also about the same as Sapele, but the grain doesn't quite look right. Osage Orange would be a little more "orange", I think.

Somewhere I remember seeing a web site that showed various species of wood and their characteristics. I'll see if I can locate it.

Hey thanks John! I didn't realize it wasn't showing up. Appreciate the help!

It's kinda hard to tell, but on my end it looks like it could be purpleheart.
