April 20, 201313 yr  Getting close to the "Finish Line" now.  Ran the router around the bottom edges to make a recess for the 1/4" Plywood bottom to sit in.    Got informed that a divider was also needed... Laid out for a dado for the divider. Then a handsaw and chisel to clean it outand then repeat for the other side.  Found a piece of scrap wood that was long enough ( barely) and even had a pair of finger holes already in it.    Cut to length to go in it spot, but needed a rabbet to fit in the dados.  So, more handsaw work, followed by the overworked chiselNow comes the fancy part. Seems the divider was too wide, er, tall.   I marked where it matched the slope of the sides, set the divider in the vise, and planed down to the lines.  Top edge now has an angle to match the sides. Installed the bottom with a little bit of glue, and a few brads.   Next, the fixed part of the lid.  Installed with screws into counter bored holes, and covered up with plugs. Like the ply's grain pattern?  I then marked out for a couple of hinges, cut the mortises with a chisel, and installed the hingesPencil line is to lay out a pencil groove.   Drilled a couple 3/8" holes, until they were just barely startedset up a fence to guide the plane alongwork the plane along until it stops cutting a groove.  Used a rolled up piece of sanding belt to smooth out the plane marks.  open the lid to clean things outthen close the lid, and add a beveled edge all around, with a block plane, and a sander.  Just about ready for the finish??? Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...

April 25, 201313 yr I enjoy watching your progress.  But I gots me a question that's been boienin' a little fire in the back of my mind:How come you don't just run it all in a single thread building on to it whenever you post new stuff?Hey~!! It's a hobby~!! It's not supposed to make sense.
April 25, 201313 yr Author Easier to find out WHAT I have been doing, instead of having to read through the entire post each time.Planer? I'm the 'planer', and these are what I use...
April 26, 201313 yr Oh I don't see why I'd read through the post more than the one time, I'd just skip on to the new stuff. But so many threads actually confoozes me. I get dizzy and have to lie down to recover. Can't tell which one is the latest.  I feel like Joey Start at 1:20 http://youtu.be/0EeTN3dB8x0 I suppose you could label them in the title with a Numerical designation like : MY THING I BUILT-001 MY THING I BUILT-002 MY THING I BUILT-003 If you planned more than a hundred you could just use three zeros Hey~!! It's a hobby~!! It's not supposed to make sense.
