April 21, 201313 yr I had some help today so it was back to the saw mill. We took a couple of Walnut logs to the mill from a lot in downtown Florence where Habitat for Humanity is about to build a house. They cut down the Walnut tree and ask me if I would like it. Like yea, I would like it! So it was taken to the saw mill and I picked up some other lumber I had there being cut. Here is the Pecan on the right and Cherry 4x's on the left. They were going to cut these Cherry 4x and sell them to the pallet plant. I couldn't let that happen so I rescued them. Off we went to unload it with the rest of the rescued lumber. So here is the 4/4 pecan stacked and stickered. Also the stack you just see next to it on the left is some Pecan from another location. Then we stacked up the 2x's from the Pecan. And next to the Pecan is a stack of Walnut that was blown down during a storm. And the stack of 4x Cherry . I have got to get over there and do a little stacking of some QSWO. So this is about it for me this weekend. Hauled a load of Cherry in Thursday evening and then this load today. Just glad since I can't use my right arm now that I had some really good help from some of my son's young strong backed friends. How has your weekend been? Did you get any projects finished.? April 22, 201313 yr John, that is an amazing collection of lumber you have going there, man I wished I lived closer!!!We got to work on my walnut rocker, I'll get some pics up tonight after work. It was nice getting in the shop and making sawdust and a being a general nuisance to my neighbors. We also broke out a pottery wheel that we got a few months back for the family to learn how to do some pottery work, it was fun, we threw a small bowl, or at least I did. It's a lot harder then it looks!!!!John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Homes For Our Troops and Wounded Warriors Project

April 23, 201313 yr Author Thanks John. I have been getting urban trees that are blown down in storms or clearing for housing. Taking them to the mill and have the sawn. It has worked out pretty nicely.John Hechel said:you sure have a few nice piles of lumber there John. Round Barn WoodCrafts, Plymouth WIroundbarnwoodcrafts@hotmail.com
